The pig feed calculator
It's hard to find a simple calculator on the internet for how much feed to give pigs. So we offer this one.
When the piglets are weaned off their mother's milk at about 8 weeks old they can be given concentrated hard-feed sold in 20kg sacks. They need an increasing amount as they get older and there's an old rule of thumb "a pound a day per pig for every month of age".
But interpreting that into how much feed to give today is a bit hit-and-miss. This calculator increases the feed suggestion by 15g every day up to a maximum ration of 3kg for pigs aged 28 weeks and over.
There's plenty of practical advice on our pig keeping courses and our members are very supportive when answering questions on our forums.
