DESCRIPTION:Have you ever wondered what keeping alpacas is like?\nDo you love these furry creatures?\nWould you like the opportunity to walk an alpaca?\nPerhaps you have some space on your small holding to add to your menagerie?\nThis new SFTG course might be just for you...\nINTRODUCTION TO KEEPING ALPACAS COURSE\nSaturday 31st May\nTime 10am to 12.30pm\nVenue - Framfield\, East Sussex\n(Full address confirmed on ticket purchase)\n\nMember\, Helen will introduce you to the world of alpacas! On her small holding\, Helen keeps a variety of animals including alpacas. Helen will talk you through all of the basics that you might need to know in order to start keeping alpacas such as their housing\, feed\, grooming\, health\, using their wool and the benefits of alpacas for mental wellbeing. You'll also get to meet the animals\, give the alpacas a walk and maybe even get an alpaca kiss!\n  \nAlpaca walks alone usually retail at about £25 per person\, so this informative course and opportunity to walk the animals comes in at a very good price\, especially for our members.\n\nTICKETS NOW AVAILABLE!\n  \n

DESCRIPTION:SFTG would like to invite our smallest members and their families to a\nBYO picnic\, small holding tour and play session!\nTuesday 27th May\n11AM - 1PM\nVenue - Framfield\nDetails\nThe SFTG committee know how important our young people are to the future of farming/small holding/gardening/animal keeping etc etc! We would like to start hosting more Small\, Small Farmer events in order to give our youngest members more learning experiences and opportunities to socialise too.\nCommittee member Helen\, has kindly offered to host our first introductory event in May half term!\nWe'd love to see you there!\n\n* All members welcome as long as they have small\, small farmer to bring along! Perhaps it is your own child/children or your grandchild/ren\n* This event is provided free of charge by SFTG and there will be tea and coffee made available.\n* Bring along your own picnic; meet the animals on the small holding and play/catch up with other small\, small farmers.\n* There is no age restriction for this event as long as all young people are accompanied by a responsible adult. Babes in arms\, toddlers\, primary aged children and teens alike are all very welcome.\n* This event will take place on a working smallholding with animals and machinery - all attendees take full responsibility for themselves and their minors\n* This is a ticketed event so that we know how many people to expect - please book a ticket online for each adult and child\n* Please dress appropriately for the event/venue/weather. SUMMARY:Bring and Share Picnic and Tool Auction 2024
DESCRIPTION:Calling all SFTG members\, new and old\, it's picnic time! \nThis is a chance to meet your fellow SFTG members\, in the lovely surroundings of Etching Wood near Framfield\, the holding of Helen Cowen and family\, who are our kind hosts this year. \nBring a plate of food to share\, some things to eat with/on and your own drink.  And chairs or a blanket.  Tea and coffee will be provided. \nIt's fun to sample the range of delicious dishes that we all bring\, some of them home-grown\, and a chance to have a look around the host's holding. \nPlease use the RSVP form provided to book your place and tick one of the boxes to say what kind of sharing dish you are bringing (savoury\, salad or sweet).  If you can label your dish that would be great. \nTo spice up the proceedings a little\, we're also having an auction to sell off our remaining stock of tools.  There will be a separate email about this\, containing details of the items to be sold.  Bids will be able to be made prior to the event for those who can't come. \nSee you there! \n
